My brother and I were watching The Wood last night when the discussion of De’Aundre Bonds who plays Stacey, Alicia’s big brother was brought up. I was surprised to learn that he served 11 years in prison for the manslaughter of his aunt’s boyfriend over a physical altercation. Before that he was set to star alongside Denzel Washington in the movie Antwone Fisher. In 2011 he was released from prison and after a few unsuccessful auditions, he finally landed a role in the upcoming film Gangster Squad alongside costars Sean Penn, Ryan Gosling, Anthony Mackie, Emma Stone, Josh Brolin, etc. He also has a production company with Francis Capra who played the part of little Calegero in the movie A Bronx Tale. In an interview he mentioned he was writing a book about his life and that he also has a rap album on Itunes titled Real Life.
